27th January 2012: New Film - Plaything

January sees the release of my most recent film, Plaything, featuring long time collaborator Kate Lomax and a soundtrack from myself under the name of These Papercuts, as per usual.

I have shot this film vertically, after my difficulty in adjusting to the differing aspect ratio of portrait photography and cinematics and I think the experiment has paid off. The venue was Kate's basement, during the tail-end months of 2011 and I very much appreciate her patients working with me in the cold and uncomfortable conditions.

I have sampled the Dolls Song from the Tales of Hoffmann opera in the soundtrack, which involves the sorry tale of impossible love for an automaton and was cited as Hans Bellmer as an influence on his doll creation.

14th January 2012: New Website Design

If you have visited this site before, you might have noticed that things are looking a little bit different. I have designed all the various incarnations of Disappointed Virginity over the years and each one has served it's purpose very nicely, but I have made the decision to conform somewhat to use ability standards, resulting in the current page and it's over hauled look and interface.

Hope that you enjoy the experience.
